Search string in MySQL database
In this tutorial I will show you how to search a specific string in a whole MySQL Database.
Let’s assume that you have a huge Magento database and you are guessing that the URL of the project is hardcoded along the whole site.
Open you terminal and execute the following:
mysqldump -uUSER -pPASSWORD databasename --extended=FALSE | grep 'www.codealist.net' | less -S
Replace the values “user”, “password”, “databasename” and “www.codealist.net” by your actual parameters.
You will receive all the occurrences on your terminal window.
